New Zealand IT services company, Fronde, is offering Google’s online applications to businesses as a cost effective business continuity solution to enable staff to work from home in case of pandemic.
Google’s communication and collaboration tools are all operated from a secure cloud computing environment. Employees can keep in touch via Gmail, instant messaging, and video conferencing; and access and share documents in collaborative shared workspaces.
”You can set up employees to work from home within days, all you need is an internet browser,” says Richard Suhr, Head of Asia Pacific, Google Enterprise. “At US$50 per user per annum, with no license surprises, Google Apps are a highly cost effective solution.”
“During a pandemic situation a business’ own IT staff are likely to be impacted as well, says Rob Old, General Manager, Fronde. “Fronde provides specialised services to help set up Google’s productivity applications, and gives New Zealand businesses the comfort of a trusted local support partner.”
Other solutions offered by Fronde to enable remote working include TwoSecure, a mobile phone based two factor authentication alternative to physical tokens that can be provisioned in real-time to give staff remote access to corporate networks. And broadcast text messaging services for communication with off-site staff.
