Agile BarCamp in Wellington @Fronde

Agile Barcamp Buzzy Bee

Buzzy Bee Flies Again!

In 2007 the inaugural BarcampAgile was held at Fronde in Wellington.  Following the success of that event the Wellington Chapter of the Agile Professionals Network is a holding another “unconference” on Saturday 12 December 2009.
As a founder of the Agile Professionals Network, Fronde is pleased to host this event at our head office on 3 Queens Wharf in Wellington.  In the two years since we started the APN in Auckland with ASB Bank, we’ve seen the Agile community grow from a small group of interested newbies into a crowd of experienced and enthusiastic practitioners – and we’re proud to be a part of it.
Doors open at 9.30am, prioritisation of topics is at 10.00am, and sessions will run until 2.30pm.  And of course, an informal gathering of minds afterwards at our neighbours Chicago (cash bar applies).
Errm – what’s a BarCamp?

Good question – follow these links to find out more:

Who should attend?

If you are someone who knows lots about, or wants to know lots about ANYTHING to do with Agile (e.g. Agile Development, Agile Project Management, Agile Enterprise Architecture, Agile) come along and take part.

I want to be there – what do I do now?

Go to http://barcamp.org/BarCampAgileWellington2 to register, list a topic you’d like discussed, or offer a session you could run.  Or you can contact the organising committee at rsvpwn@agileprofessionals.net if you have any other questions.

Spread the word.  Turn up on the 12th.  Join in and have fun networking with other Agile professionals.

We hope to see you there.

  • Thanks Mike for clarifying.

I hold up my hand and apologise to Carolyn for not reviewing the post properly to correct the error.

    Hope to see you there!

  • [...] 2007 Fronde was involved in the very first Agile Barcamp in Wellington, and next month we’re hosting the absolute newest one – as one of the organisers has noted, it has been interesting to see the growth of Agile over [...]

It was a great event – definitely worth attending. The speakers shared a lot of passion and most of all knowledge and substance. The timeframe was strickly adhered to! I’m very impressed. Thanks to the Fronde Team who helped made this happen by providing a great venue and coffee. The cookies were great too but Des should do home baking next time. :)

Thanks to everyone who participated, especially Desiree for the fabulous Fronde hosting.
Educational, inspiring and fun, now I just need to apply some of it :-)

  • Desiree Purvis says:

Aw thanks but I cannot take all the credit – thanks to the other Frondies (Chris, Laura, Iain and Dave) for their help, and to the Welly APN for the inspiration to put on the event.

There was definitely a lot of buzz going on!

  • Hope it all went swimmingly.

I’m sure Fronde will also be all over the Google Barcamp being arranged for Thursday 25th March … attendees + sponsorship, hint hint.

Love to see all you Google Apps implementers along
