		<description>Thanks for your input, John.  Yes, I have found using system testers to help refine and clarify requirements during elicitation can be very powerful.  Mind you, this relies on the particular individuals being adapted to working in that fluid environment.  Following my theme, I guess you could characterise this scenario as &quot;Testing Is Integral To All Growing Things&quot;, and from a management perspective it is about doing things right the first time, reducing rework and utilising people skills in the most productive way possible.</description>

		<description>I think you could take it even further as you start to look at agile and TDD or ATDD (Acceptance Test Driven Development). Now testers add value to the project beyond even timely useful information regarding quality as they are now providing: 

1) an efficient way to elaborate and  document &quot;stories&quot; as they are refined by defining automated story-tests in business language (keywords/actions/Domain Specific Language) in a wiki or other accessible format.
2)a way to get very fast develop/deploy cycles as the tests are developed in parallel with the rest of the iteration activities with developer&#039;s providing any &quot;glue&quot; code as part of their code delivery so the tests can then be instantly run.</description>
